SAMAN POURAMINI RESPOND…
Chiropractic
What does your discipline consist of, is it supported by scientific evidence, and what principles or philosophy is it based on?
Chiropractic, which means <<done with the hands>>, is an art, philosophy and science of health.
Art because chiropractors use their hands to adjust the spine.
Philosophy because chiropractic is based on the innate intelligence of the body and its capacity for self-healing.
Science because chiropractors study more than 5500 hours of subjects similar to medicine, because we both work on the human body.
All chiropractors are graduates, i.e. they have a university degree. You can’t be a chiropractor without that degree, just as you can’t be a doctor without a medical degree.
Of course it is, that is why chiropractic is regulated and included in public and private health care in Anglo-Saxon countries. At the moment there are just over 300 licensed chiropractors in Spain and although there are now two study centres – one in Madrid and one in Barcelona – chiropractic is not yet regulated to be included in the public health system.
